When planning a Vacation, the most exciting part is what to pack and what not to, especially when there is a set limit. All the airlines have their own fixed baggage allowance policies and so is Vistara. Vistara has revised its free Vistara baggage policy under each fare category. They have fixed a per piece baggage concept for their Economy Lite passengers. Under this policy, the Economy Lite passengers, when travelling within India, can carry only 1 piece of baggage, with a maximum weight of 15kg.
Free vistara domestic baggage allowance as per cabin class:
The Economy Class passenger can carry 15 kg luggage (1 piece) under lite category, 15 kg under standard category and 20 kg under flexi category. The Premium Economy passenger can take 20 kg, 25 kg and 30 kg under the three categories and the Business class passenger can carry 30 kg, 35 kg and 40 kg under the three categories.
For passengers travelling to Bangkok, Singapore or Dubai, free baggage allowance in vistara is as follows:
The traveller of Economy class can carry 30 kg luggage under lite category, 30 kg under standard category and 35 kg under flexi category. The Premium Economy class passenger can carry 35 kg, 35 kg and 40 kg under the three categories while Business class traveller can carry 40 kg, 40 kg and 45 kg under the three categories.
Vistara extra baggage rules:
For those travelling within India, if additional weight is being carried, the traveller will be charged INR 500 per kg, irrespective of the fare they have selected.
Economy Lite passengers, if carrying additional piece, also will be charged INR 500 per piece.
For International travel, if any additional weight is being carried, the passenger will be charged USD 12 per kg, irrespective of the fare you select.

Vistara Hand Baggage rules:
When travelling within India, one can carry free hand baggage up to a maximum of 7kg when travelling in Economy Class, 10kg in Premium Economy and 12kg in Business Class. And, the baggage must fit the cabin space. Another personal item like laptop bag or ladies purse can also be taken on board if it can fit under the seat.
In case of additional hand baggage, one can purchase it online or at the airport counters through “Carry-On Plus” service, which is applicable for travel within India only.
One has to pay INR 250 per kg (inclusive of taxes) for every additional kg beyond the free hand baggage allowance limit, up to a total of 12kg bag weight (inclusive of the free weight allowance).
However the travellers of Economy Lite category can carry a maximum of 7kg weight in hand baggage. Additional Hand Baggage allowance cannot be purchased by them.
