Jawa was found by Frantisek Janecek in 1929 in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The name ‘Jawa’ is the combination of the first two letters of his name and the word Wanderer, the motorcycle division he owned. The brand Java was introduced in India in 1960 under the Ideal Jawa brand name. In 1973, they were also sold under the ‘Yezdi’ brand tag. But finally in 1996, the production stopped. Internationally, Jawa Moto was formed in 1997, the company that originally brought in the Jawa. The brand sells motorcycles with 350cc two-stroke engine to Central American countries. In addition to this, there is a four-stroke 660cc single-cylinder. The company has re-entered the Indian motorcycle chunk after 22 years under the tag Classic Legends and has brought in the 300cc Jawa Forty Two and Jawa Standard.

The modern day Jawa Motorcycles have introduced three models which are the Jawa, Jawa 42 and the Jawa Perak, though Jawa Perak is not available for sales yet.
The Jawa is priced at Rs 1.64 lakh while the other model, Jawa 42 is priced at Rs. 1.55 lakh. Jawa will also showcase a bobfloat model called the Jawa Perak, which will be priced at Rs. 1.89 lakh.
The first Jawa motorcycle was called Jawa itself. Jawa is a 300 cc modern classic motorcycle which is in competition with Royal Enfield’s 350 cc classic Bullet. The design of Jawa is inspired from the original Jawa bikes that ruled the Indian roads back in 1970-80s. The round headlamp, fenders, a round fat fuel tank and the seat, the modern bike get a modern heart and mechanical parts this time.
