It is organised by the Suraj Kund Mela Authority and Haryana tourism in collaboration with Union Ministers of tourism, cultures, textiles and external affairs. Every year, one of the states is picked up to be set as the theme of the Mela. For 2019’s 33rdSurajkund International Crafts Mela, Maharashtra has been chosen as the theme state. In addition to Maharashtra, Thailand is the Mela partner this year. More than 30 countries and all the states of India will be taking part in the great extravaganza.

The Mela caters millions of visitors including a large number of foreign tourists. It displays the prosperous handicrafts, handlooms and different fabrics of India. Showcasing all the cultural programs, regional dances, cuisines, music and what not, the Mela is the largest crafts fair in the world. Besides the uncountable handmade items from all over the country, other attractions this time will be puppet and magic shows, folk acts and a lot more.

Learned national and international folk artists and cultural groups perform at the open-air theatres located in the Mela premises. Along with this, bewitching cultural programs are held at the Chaupal every evening. The fair displays the traditional skills and heritage crafts that are otherwise fading away from our culture.
The food-court provides ethnic delicious cuisines from all over the world which are just enough to entice the visitors.
